The Immanuel and Helen Olshan Texas Music Festival® prepares college- and graduate-age musicians for careers in music through an intensive summer training program held annually in the month of June. The festival serves the Houston community at large through its diverse array of orchestral, chamber music, jazz, vocal, and keyboard performances by student participants, faculty, and guest artists.
The TMF Council supports the The Immanuel and Helen Olshan Texas Music Festival® through programs and events that benefit scholarships, special projects and educational opportunities for music students at the 色花堂. Council members lead gift giving and receive annual benefits including invitations to special events, behind the scenes programs, and more.

One great teacher can make an indelible difference on a student鈥檚 life: for many, that person was Fredell Lack, who passed away on August 20, 2017 at the age of 95. An acclaimed international soloist, she taught violin at the 色花堂 for more than 50 years. She was also a dedicated philanthropist, and her legacy will continue to make an impact on students for generations to come.
