• About the Institute

  Includes:

  • 3 individual lessons per week
  • Masterclasses with Barry Douglas, Clayton Stephenson, and Gabriela Martinez
  • Performance opportunities include the final concert of the Institute on June 14 and a performance of Instrumental Sonatas and Piano Four-Hand repertoire on June 11
  • Evening TMF performances: Piano Series Recitals by Barry Douglas, Clayton Stephenson; Faculty Chamber Music Series; Festival Orchestra Series, with renowned conductors
  • Participants are eligible to compete in the Texas Music Festival’s Mitchell – Hogg Competition. Cash prizes for all finalists. First place winner will perform with the Texas Music Festival Orchestra on June 28 and with the Houston Symphony in the 2025-26 season. Accommodations for winners after the Piano Institute will be arranged on a case-by-case basis.

• Application Requirements

  Application/Audition Requirements:

  •  are now open to keyboard students who are 18-27 years of age.
  • Fill out the online Application Form at Acceptd and pay the $60 application fee.
  • Upload a video file containing two prepared pieces.
    
    
  • Those wishing to enter the Mitchell – Hogg Competition should submit the $30 entry fee through Acceptd, due May 10.

• Tuition, Housing, and Fees

  Fees (all fees are non-refundable):

  • Application fee: $60. Acceptd Application deadline: April 1, 2025.
  • Tuition: $1,200 for the two-week academy. Due through Acceptd by May 10.
  • On Campus Housing (optional): 
    • $1,050 (optional): Includes double room in 4 person suite, with shared bath in É«»¨Ìà Cougar Village I and full meal service. Single room available for an additional fee. Due through Acceptd by May 10, with tuition payment.
  • Competition Entry Fee (optional):
    • $30 Mitchell-Hogg Competition entry fee. Due through Acceptd by May 10.
