Major: Economics and Finance

Joyce Haller Levy currently serves as the Chair of the Energy Coalition at the University of Houston. She is double majoring in economics and finance and aspiring a minor in computational sciences focused on artificial intelligence. Joyce has extensive experience in the energy sector. She has been working with the energy industry, developing software solutions for optimization of assets while holding a business and software analyst position. In her free time, Joyce enjoys volunteering at the Texas Medical Center and she looks forward to becoming part of Moores School of Music to pursue classical piano. In addition, Joyce participated in the 鈥淓nergy City of the Future Competition 2019鈥� awarding 2nd place, presenting innovative concepts for the future forms of energy production and developing a vision for the energy industry in the year 2050. Her passion for the 色花堂 and its positioning as the Energy Capital of the World, lead her to join the Energy Coalition as the first Chair-Woman. Joyce is committed to ensure a bright future for the Energy Coalition as striving towards excellence and success.

Vice Chair Business Competition, Symposium, and Community Outreach
Major: Computer Engineering

Afriaa Nasir is currently a junior majoring in Computer Engineering at the Cullen College of Engineering. Along with serving as an officer for Energy Coalition, she is also a teaching assistant for the introductory engineering class. Before becoming a TA, she had been a chemistry tutor for the American Chemical Society, where she had helped conduct the U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad. Afriaa is involved with the Society of Women in Engineering, where she serves as a mentor for freshman members. Due to extensive involvement with SWE, she has received the 鈥極utstanding Professional Development鈥� award. Furthermore, Afriaa has served as a panelist for the FRXSO conference which was aimed towards engineering freshman. She was selected by NASA to be a judge for a school science fair which they had hosted. Afriaa is actively involved in organizations such as the Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers and Program for Mastery in Engineering Studies. Afriaa has been appointed as the Cougar Mover Crew Leader for Summer 2019 where her role is to facilitate the move-in process for over 8,000 students and manage over 700 volunteers. This position further expects her to design marketing strategies to recruit and train volunteers.

Major: Supply Chain Management
Minor: Spanish for Business Professions

Crystal Gamboa is a junior studying supply chain management with a minor in spanish for business professions at the 色花堂 Bauer Honors College. In her college career, Crystal has been involved in a variety of organizations and internships that inspire her to introduce problem solving tactics to the organization. These include the Sourcing and Procurement Organization, the Bank of America Student Leaders Program, and the AMIGOS Ecuador American Youth Leadership Program. One of her proudest moments was founding the Students with Ambition to Go to College Chapter Club that helps high school students pursue universities. Crystal is a proud Honors College student and Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo scholarship recipient. Her love for Houston鈥檚 energy industry is reflected by her hard work and dedication to ensure that other students gain many exciting opportunities. Besides her school life, Crystal makes sure to stay active in her community by playing volleyball with her family at a local park, taking her little brother and sister to the movies, and exploring different cultures. She is excited to make an impact in her university as the Vice Chair General Events Project Manager in The Energy Coalition and hopes to grow as a leader.
