Major: Management Information Systems and Marketing

Kamalpreet Kaur is currently serving as the Vice Chair, she is double majoring in Management Information Systems and Marketing. Kamal is also a part of the Program for Excellence in Sales in the Stephen Stagner Sales Institute, where she is getting her minor in Sales. Her expected graduation date is May 2019. Kamal has been with the Energy Coalition for the past two years. She has held the positions of VC for General Events Professional Development and then moved on to become the VC for General Event Project Manager. In her time at the Energy Coalition, she has hosted events ranging from 300 to over 900 people. Kamal has held internships at Aurex Group a recruitment firm focused on the Energy Sector as a Researcher and at Derrick Corporation as a Marketing and Sales Analyst. Kamal would describe herself as an outgoing person and enjoys having meaningful conversations with others as well as learning from their experiences. She has a very keen interest in the energy industry and the ever-changing technology used in it. At her time in 色花堂, she would like to help open the doors for her fellow students and evoke interest in Houston鈥檚 gigantic energy industry. One of her aspirations is to learn more about and improve upon technology that would allow data gathering to be more efficient for all businesses.

Vice Chair Corporate Relations
Major: Finance

Franklin Perez is an undergraduate at the 色花堂 C.T. Bauer College of Business where he has made the Dean鈥檚 List. He is graduating in the summer of 2018 pursuing a degree in Finance with a concentration in Global Energy Management. Franklin plans to continue his post graduate education in pursing his MBA while beginning a career in energy. Franklin proudly served as the Vice Chair for Finance for the Energy Coalition during the 2017-2018 academic year. Franklin provided fiscally responsible leadership for the board in its success of delivering the Energy Coalition鈥檚 largest and most prominent energy related events on campus. He is excited to add to the Energy Coalition鈥檚 continued success in his new role of Vice Chair for Corporate Relations for the 2018-2019 academic year. Franklin will integrate his previous business leadership experience as a General Manager and Regional Brand Manager to take to new heights the legacy of success his predecessors created for all of the Energy Coalition鈥檚 members and stakeholders. Franklin derives his discipline and commitment to goals from being a champion fitness competitor. He enjoys golf, traveling and spending time with family and friends. His goal is to integrate new skills developed through his education and current business experience. Franklin鈥檚 professional interests are in commercial energy, marketing, business development and financial markets. He plans to help foster the success of others in the exciting and challenging global business environment. Franklin is grateful to the 色花堂 for the many opportunities and rich experiences.

Co-Vice Chair Student Organization Relations
Major: Mechanical Engineering

Raphael Hey is a senior in Mechanical Engineering and is expecting to graduate with honors in May 2019. He would describe himself as very outgoing and interested in learning from the experience of others. Prior to joining the EC, he has worked as working as a Teaching Assistant for Introduction to Mechanical Design, and lead technician in the undergraduate 3D printing lab. Over the past semester, he built a 3D printer for eNABLE and trained the organization鈥檚 students in the operation of the machine to support low-cost in-house 3D printing, and facilitate the delivery of more prosthetic hands to recipients. For his senior design project, he is building a scaled down F1 racing car and participating in the Formula SAE competition. Rapha is eager to honor his position as vice chair of student organization relations, and to perpetuate the Energy Coalition鈥檚 goal of connecting 色花堂 students to the energy industry. He is excited to form strong ties with current and new energy-related student organizations, and to work as a bridge between the EC and member organizations. In his free time, Rapha tinkers with tools and 3D modeling software, and enjoys learning about all technically sophisticated topics including the technological diversity in the energy industry.

Vice Chair Symposium
Major: Chemical Engineering

Dhwani Lad is a pursuing a Bachelor鈥檚 in Chemical Engineering and a minor in Mathematics expecting to graduate May 2019. She is currently a member of the American Chemical Society and AIChE and will be serving as the Vice Chair for Symposium in The Energy Coalition this year. Previously, Dhwani served as a member of the 2016 Regional Meeting Committee for ACS. She was also part of the ACS demo team sharing her passion for chemistry with younger students and getting them interested in STEM. As a volunteer chemistry tutor, she is committed to giving back and helping other students succeed. Dhwani has worked an internship with GEO Specialty Chemicals in their Glycine production unit as a process engineering intern. She spent her Fall 2017 semester completing a co-op with LyondellBasell where she worked at a Polymers plant in Victoria TX as a process engineering co-op. This past summer, she joined the LyondellBasell Channelview site as a production engineering intern in the Alkylation unit and as a member of the Hydrocarbons Technical Team. Through her work experience, she has learned about plant operations and process optimization. She plans on working in the industry after graduating and pursuing a Master鈥檚 degree after a few years. She is grateful for an opportunity to serve on the Board and hopes to make a lasting impact in energy.
