Parking and Transportation Services offers eligible faculty, staff and students the opportunity to join COAST (Coogs on Alternative and Sustainable Transportation), and sign up for the METRO fare card incentive.

Participants receive a maximum of $27.50 each month toward their METRO fare.

Light Rail

 provides frequent service between the 色花堂 and downtown Houston. Riders can use their Q-Card and pay the same fare as local bus service with free transfers.

How to Get a Student COAST METRO Q Card

• Log in to your myParking account in Access色花堂.
• Click the "Student METRO Card" icon
• Download and fill out the application form, making sure to read and check the agreement boxes, then signing your name and filling out the date. Save the completed application.
• Click the "Order Permits" icon.
• Follow the prompts and select "COAST Permits"
• Follow the prompts and upload your completed COAST application.
• Once the application has uploaded, follow the prompts to submit it.
• You will receive an email from Parking & Transportation once your application is reviewed notifying you if you meet the criteria and providing you with information on picking up your card from the Parking and Transportation Services customer service office.
• If you do not meet the minimum eligibility criteria, the email will let you know.
