How to apply for STEM OPT Extension

**REQUIREMENT TO APPLY FOR OPT-X STEM:  **

  1. Verify requirements and submission material needed to ISSSO
  2. Here are quick links to documents for your application submission to ISSSO.
    2. (These forms are only required to fill out if you are sending documents to USCIS by regular mail)

  3. Submit the required documents by email to ISSSOHLP@central.uh.edu in pdf format.
  4. Mail a $200 check or money order for your OPT-X alumni fee with the to ISSSO office. A Check, Money Order, or Cash can be submitted to our office in-person (A friend can pay for you with a completed Payment Coupon).
  5. Receive your documents back from ISSSO with the new I-20 by email. (Regular mail or in-person available upon request).
  6. Mail the application packet to or file your application online (recommended).
