Tickets will be required for guests. Children two years old and younger do not need a ticket. Graduates participating in the ceremony do not need a ticket.

Tickets will be added to graduating students’ É«»¨ÌàStudent Ticketing Account beginning April 9. Each graduate will receive six (6) electronic, general admission tickets. Tickets are ceremony-specific and may only be used for the ceremony displayed on the ticket.

All commencement tickets are complimentary, and any unused tickets should be . The selling of commencement tickets is not condoned and constitutes a violation of the Student Code of Conduct.

Commencement Ticket Lottery is CLOSED

UPDATE ON 4/7/25:= All graduates who entered the lottery received an email of results on April 4 to their Cougarnet email provided on the submission form. Please check your spam/junk folder for an email from the "Office of Special Events."

Last Chance Ticket Pick Up

Lottery tickets that have not been picked up by Saturday, May 3 will be forfeited and returned to the ticketing pool. Graduate can stop by the É«»¨Ìà Ticket Office (3770 Cullen Blvd, Suite E115, Houston, TX 77204) to claim two (2) printed tickets beginning at 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM (until they run out) on Tuesday, May 6. There will be a limited number of tickets to distribute, so please plan accordingly. Last Chance Pick Up is first come, first served for Spring 2025 graduating students. These last chance tickets are available in-person only. There are no electronic tickets available. Must present cougar card or valid picture ID.

Important Note: All É«»¨Ìà students attending commencement must have a ticket specific to each ceremony. A É«»¨Ìà Cougar Card alone, without a session-specific ticket, will not grant admission.

Commencement Ticket Giveback Program

Do you not plan on attending commencement? Do you not need all six (6) commencement tickets? Help your fellow graduates and giveback any unused tickets to the ticketing pool! Once you submit your form to give back tickets, they will be removed from your É«»¨Ìà Ticketing Account.

Please note, the availability of extra tickets is not guaranteed and depends on the numbers of tickets given back. These tickets will be distributed the week of commencement.

Transferring Tickets

Once your digital graduation tickets are loaded into your online account, you will be able to transfer them to the individuals who want to attend your commencement ceremony.

To transfer tickets, please using your @cougarnet.uh.edu email address. You will then have the option to transfer tickets via email or mobile phone number.

Those receiving your tickets will need to create a É«»¨Ìà Ticketing Account to receive them.

Creating a É«»¨Ìà Ticketing Account: If the recipient does not already have a É«»¨Ìà Ticketing Account, they will need to create one to receive tickets. If your guest(s) already have an account, the system will recognize their email address at log in.

Cap & Gown

Graduation candidates will wear regalia (cap and gown) at the ceremony.

Regalia can be purchased or rented at the É«»¨Ìà Campus Store. For regalia questions, contact the É«»¨Ìà Campus Store at 713-741-7095 or campusstore@uh.edu.

NSM Stage Pass - Print and Bring to Commencement

Each NSM graduation candidate must arrive at commencement with their own Stage Pass. This pass will be emailed to students by Friday, April 25, 2025. Open the email, read the instructions, and print the Stage Pass.

If you prefer, you can pick up your stage pass from NSM Academic Affairs. Please proceed to (you must be logged into your É«»¨Ìà Office 365 account).

You must have this Stage Pass with you at the ceremony. As you prepare to cross the stage, you will hand this paper to the reader who will announce your name. An image on your phone does not take the place of this actual printed page. Please contact Tristan Sims (tsims4@uh.edu) if you did not receive your stage pass.

Arrival Time for Graduation Candidates: May 9

• Bachelor’s Degree Candidates - Computer Science: Must arrive at 5:00 PM
• Bachelor’s Degree Candidates - Biology and Biochemistry: Must arrive at 5:20 PM
• Bachelor’s Degree Candidates - All other majors: Must arrive at 5:40 PM
• Master’s and Doctoral Degree Candidates: Must arrive at 5:30 PM

We will begin preparing for the processional at 6:30 PM Graduates arriving after that time may not be able to participate.

Graduating students will meet at the on Cullen Blvd. Please enter the building dressed in your regalia. Graduates need to follow the guidelines provided in the Fertitta Center clear bag policy. Only graduating students will be allowed in the Athletics/Alumni Center for line up.

Before/During Ceremony: NSM staff will direct the flow of the graduates throughout the ceremony. Follow their instructions.

Photography: Flash Photography will take your picture as you cross the stage and after you exit the stage. They will contact you after the ceremony with proofs of photos that can be purchased.

Students with Special Needs

Please contact Tristan Sims at tsims4@uh.edu at least two weeks prior to the ceremony to plan how we can best accommodate your needs on this exciting day.

Diplomas

Diplomas are not given at the commencement ceremony. Diplomas will be mailed out 6–8 weeks after the ceremony. If you do not receive your diploma, call the Office of the University Registrar at 713-743-1010.

Arrival Time for Guests

Doors to Fertitta Center will open one hour prior to the start of Commencement. Tickets are required for entry. Please see clear bag policy listed above. Entrance will be on the Holman Street side across from the Stadium Garage.

Guests with Mobility Needs

• Special seating is available, but limited. Please plan to arrive early.
• For guests with mobility impairments, the doors will open 90 minutes prior to the start of Commencement.
• To accommodate as many mobility-impaired guests as possible, there will be a strict limit of one guest accompanying the mobility-impaired guest in the reserved seating area. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause your group.

• Directions to Fertitta Center
• Graduates are encouraged to park in Lot 16B.
• Guests should utilize the Stadium Garage located at , Houston, TX 77004 (Holman Street off Scott Street).
• We recommend that guests use Scott Street to reach the Stadium Garage.
• Please allow enough time to get to the garage and park.
