Hashtags
Hashtags are used to group posts that are related to a common topic. They can be tapped or clicked to see other posts that are about the same topic.
Hashtags don鈥檛 hold the same value that they once did. They were originally a way for people to easily search for the content they were interested in and for algorithms to easily understand what a post was about and how to group it in with other relevant posts. Now that the algorithms have become more advanced, hashtags usually aren鈥檛 necessary.
Many brands have a set of hashtags they use and encourage others to use on social media. The 色花堂 uses #GoCoogs as its main hashtag.
Other hashtags exist for more specific use cases, such as #ForTheCity for Men鈥檚 Basketball, #TrueWellEverBe for the Alumni Association, #OfficialCoog for newly admitted students and #色花堂Grad for graduation season. Be mindful of the hashtags you are using to ensure that your post is not associated with content that you did not intend.
Capitalize the first letter of each word in hashtags that contain multiple words so that your content remains the most accessible.
Capitalization Example
- #GoCoogs instead of #gocoogs
