  Researchers at the É«»¨ÌÃ’s Texas Center for Superconductivity have achieved another first in their quest toward ambient-pressure high-temperature superconductivity, bringing us one step closer to finding superconductors that work in everyday conditions – and potentially unlocking a new era of energy-efficient technologies.
• The White House recently announced the educators and institutions earning the nation’s highest honor for outstanding mentoring in STEM disciplines. The Presidential Awards for Excellence in Science, Mathematics and Engineering Mentoring were awarded to a who’s who of scholars, scientists, educators and researchers. Among this year’s honorees is longtime É«»¨Ìà physics professor Donna Stokes.
