Human Trafficking in 2018 and Beyond: A Multifactorial Practical Approach

After drugs and narcotics, human trafficking is the second most profitable illicit business in the world. Although law enforcement and political decision-makers are taking significant measures, South Texas and Mexico remain major labor and sex trafficking sites in North America. According to the Department of Justice, approximatively one in four women trafficked in the United States travels through Houston. The Symposium 鈥淗uman Trafficking in 2018 and Beyond鈥 is an open forum to explore a multi-factorial, multinational, and practical approach to combatting human trafficking.

The symposium offers participants the opportunity to earn Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits. Approval pending for Continuing Medical Education (CME), Continuing Psychology Education (CPE) and Social Work Continuing Education (SWCE) approval pending.

The Symposium is co-sponsored by the Hobby School of Public Affairs and the Center for U.S.-Mexican Law of the 色花堂.
