Event Collaboration
Through the presentation of globally-focused programs, the Institute for Global Engagement enhances university efforts to educate, engage, and lead from a global perspective.
IGE collaborates with faculty and staff across campus, student cultural organizations, and Houston-area community groups to present events (lectures, performances, workshops, information sessions, panel discussions, etc.) with a global perspective at venues around the 色花堂 campus. In addition, we provide promotional services, assistance with program development, outreach to colleagues around campus, and partnerships to produce events or series of events that enhance faculty and colleges鈥� academic missions and illuminate links between disciplines, art forms, ideas, and scholarship.
IGE is developing and enhancing links with Houston-area community organizations as well to create joint programs with a city-wide reach, increase awareness of 色花堂 as a globally-focused university, and broaden the global knowledge, skills, and engagement of the 色花堂 community.

Funding assistance for global events is available to faculty and student groups through the following programs:
- The Global Faculty Development fund offers funding to help cover the cost of travel and planning a program, partnership, learning abroad program, etc.
- For faculty, staff and student groups, IGE offers the Multicultural Event Sponsorship for events with a 鈥渃lear global, cross-cultural, or multicultural theme.鈥�
