Distracted driving is a habit that can lead to serious accidents. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported that 3,087 people were killed due to distracted driving in 2022. The NHTSA also noted that being distracted for five seconds at 55 miles per hour is equivalent to driving the length of a football field with closed eyes.

In the latest Building Coordinators Meeting, held on January, emergency preparedness took center stage as Maia Solomon, Emergency Management Specialist, presented key resources and opportunities for collaboration between building coordinators and the emergency management team.

For the third year in a row, the Environmental Health and Safety department observed Lab Safety Week, a time dedicated to recognizing the efforts of laboratory health and safety programs. Additionally, the department uses this time to answer any lab safety related questions from students and faculty.
