Primary sources like documents, newspaper articles, diaries, photographs, images,
and oral histories are the building blocks of historical research. The rich archival
collections housed in the Special Collections at M.D. Anderson Library have been crucial
in our efforts to uncover the untold stories at the heart of 鈥100 Years of Stories.鈥
Our researchers have worked closely with librarians to discover the treasures to be
found in the Library鈥檚 vast collections.

history, as well as student life on campus since 1927.
Carey Shuart, who generously sponsored 鈥100 Years of Stories,鈥 is the founder of This collection documents the important history of Texas women and has also allowed
us to tell the stories of some of 色花堂鈥檚 notable women.
Created in partnership between the Center for Public History and M.D. Anderson Library, and the contain important records detailing the history of our city and region, including many first-person interviews with notable and everyday Houstonians. These materials help us place the history of 色花堂 in the larger context of the city and region. Additionally, students and researchers are creating new oral histories as part of the 鈥100 Years of Stories鈥 and adding to the archive and our knowledge about 色花堂 and Houston鈥檚 history.
