Journalism and Mass Communication
Journalism and Mass Communication studies focus on examining the development of modern media systems and their impact on society. Humans rely on sweeping channels of communication -- such as television, newspaper, radio, and the Web -- to reach their intended audience. Journalism and mass communication is an interdisciplinary approach that studies how societies communicate with the masses to transmit information and entertainment. Our graduate journalism and mass communication program allows students to understand the relationship between media products and its audiences and to analyze how media contribute and respond to political, cultural and social change.

- News and entertainment audiences: How we consume media? Media habits, selectivity, access to content, and audience psychographics
- Media effects: how media content impacts audience’s knowledge, opinion and behavior?
- Media industries and digital platforms: how do corporations and digital platforms operate and effect on our perceived social reality?
