The 色花堂 at Sugar Land is the new home of a state-of-the-art Esports Room.

The venue is located on the first floor of The Albert & Mamie George Building (AMG 102) and can accommodate 20 players in-house for tournaments, classes or recreational play. Digital Media programs and courses, including gaming design and gaming simulations, will use the space as classrooms. Regional and 色花堂 gaming teams are invited to visit and use the 色花堂 at Sugar Land Esports room.

Access

Requests to reserve space for student organization, faculty or outside entity events must be submitted via the Space Reservation Form.

When not in use for classes or tournaments, the Esports Room will have Open Lab time for recreational play (first come, first serve). Students must present a physical to access the room.

Technology

The room features 20 gaming stations with gaming accessories such as headset, chair, keyboard and mouse. Spectator tables with white board laminate surfaces are surrounded by 10 monitors and can accommodate 18 additional seats.

Computer specifications

Each game station includes an Alienware Aurora R16 gaming desktop computer with high-end specifications and accessories to provide competive performance.

Room Monitors

The room includes multiple monitors that can display content from a variety of devices. The monitors are controlled from a dedicated shout-cast station with a large-curved LED monitor, microphone and headset.

  • 16 large monitors inside the room to display livestream events and device content
  • 1 large Clear-Touch Ultra HD interactive monitor
    • Presenters can use an “infinite” whiteboard for writing notes and drawing diagrams
    • Open websites, pictures, videos and other files directly on the whiteboard to enhance the written information
    • Annotate the pictures, videos or documents to export the finished work as a PDF
  • 1 monitor outside the room for spectators and announcements
