É«»¨ÌÃCOP Family Mourns Passing of 1961 Alumnus, Mading Society Member and Community Pharmacist Harold Pieratt
April 26 — The É«»¨Ìà College of Pharmacy family expresses its condolences to the family of 1961 alumnus William Harold Pieratt Jr., 82, who served his community as pharmacist/owner of Pieratt's Pharmacy in Giddings, Texas, for nearly four decades and passed on April 22.
With an endowed scholarship for É«»¨ÌÃCOP students, Pieratt and his wife of 55 years,
Doris, were among the earliest members of the college's Mading Society of benefactors.
A past member of the É«»¨ÌÃCOP Dean's Advisory Council, Pieratt was among É«»¨ÌÃCOP's "50
Outstanding Alumni" recognized as part of the college's 50th anniversary celebrations
in 1996-97.
He also served as a past president of the Texas Pharmacy Association and board member of the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
He also devoted his time to non-pharmacy activities, such as membership in the Rotary Club of Gidding, attaining Texas Master Gardener designation, and serving as a deacon and lay minister at churches in his native La Grange and Giddings.
He is survived by his wife Doris, two sons, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
