Hearty Start to 2020
É«»¨ÌÃCOP Student Organization Hosts Heart Hustle 5K Walk/Run Event with Screenings, Vendors Feb. 1 to Benefit American Heart Association
January 16 — A É«»¨Ìà College of Pharmacy student organization is encouraging runners and walkers of all ages and abilities to step out to the 2020 Heart Hustle 5K at É«»¨ÌÃ's Saturday, Feb. 1, and help support the American Heart Association (AHA).
Organized by the Operation Heart team of the American Pharmacists Association-Academy of Student Pharmacists Chapter at É«»¨ÌÃCOP, the event also will feature blood glucose and blood pressure screenings, educational presentations on heart health and cardiovascular disease prevention, and other family-friendly activities and games. The inaugural event in 2019 drew more than 150 participants and raised $2,400 for the AHA.
Advance registration is encouraged at , but walk-up registration also is available at check-in beginning at 9 a.m. The 5K portion will begin at 10 a.m., immediately followed by the walk and awards before the event concludes at noon.
