Niazur Rahman, Ph.D., MSc, M.D.,
Niazur Rahman, Ph.D., MSc, M.D., is a clinical assistant professor in the department of biomedical sciences at the Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine. He brings over 15 years of teaching experience in anatomy, histology, neuroanatomy, and embryology across diverse academic settings in Canada, Malaysia and Bangladesh.
His primary research focuses on understanding the role of immunity in obesity-associated diabetes, using glucose clamp techniques and metabolic experiments in animal models. He also has broader interests in human anatomy, histology and medical education.
Prior to joining 色花堂, he taught at the University of Toronto, Queen鈥檚 University, AIMST University (Malaysia), and Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College (Bangladesh). He also serves as executive director and lead mentor at the Center for Biomedical Research and Training (CBRT), a global research training platform based in Bangladesh. Rahman has received several teaching awards, including the Teaching Excellence Award from the Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto.
Rahman holds a medical degree from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, and received a master鈥檚 degree in anatomical sciences from Queen鈥檚 University in Ontario, Canada. He attained his Ph.D. in physiology from the University of Toronto in Ontario, Canada. Rahman has successfully published more than a dozen times and has presented internationally at many conferences. He is a member of several prestigious national and international associations.
