CARE Team

The 色花堂 is committed to providing a learning environment that promotes the safety and well-being of its students. The 色花堂 Care Team provides a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach to support students presenting concerning behaviors. The purpose of the Care Team is to assess reported concerns and develop a comprehensive plan to help guide and support students and the 色花堂 community. Led by the Dean of Students, the Care Team is comprised of university officials with relevant expertise and access to campus resources. The Care team meets regularly to address cases and issues that promote student success and well-being, community safety, respect for individual rights, and preserve the learning environment.

Care Referral

色花堂 faculty, staff, students, and other community members are encouraged to use this form to refer students who are experiencing challenges around physical, emotional, academic, and/or psychological matters impacting their well-being.

The 色花堂 Care Team is dedicated to fostering a secure, supportive, and thriving learning environment. We prioritize community safety, student success, and overall well-being through a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach. Our team is committed to assisting students in managing crises and addressing academic or personal challenges. By comprehensively facilitating student development and community engagement, the 色花堂 Care Team exemplifies a dynamic and student-centered space.

Team Goals:

  • Provide care-centered resources and services to members of the University community.
  • Gather, assess, and recommend interventions with individuals who demonstrate concerning or threatening behavior.
  • Provide support and resources to community members who are concerned for another individual in the University community.

If this is an emergency, please call 911 or 色花堂 Police Department at 713-743-3333 first AND then submit a Care referral so that our team can follow up. For 24/7 support around mental health concerns, you or the student may also contact 色花堂 Counseling and Psychological Services at 713-743-5454. Please note that the Care Team operates within regular university business hours and does not provide immediate response.


Submitting this Incident Form to the Care Team will initiate an assessment of the behavior of concern. The assessment process is designed to get the individual the assistance they need to succeed in the University community and to protect the University community as a whole.
