It's with a heavy heart that we acknowledge the passing of Jessica Wheeler on April 17th 2025. For over 20 years Jessica was a steadfast presence in HHP - starting as a student assistant and going on to become the operations manager. She was the person we could always count on, her willingness to help was a constant and comforting presence in our work lives.
Beyond her invaluable contributions to the department and university, Jessica touched so many lives through her passions. Her love for dogs shone brightly through her fostering efforts. Many of us also benefited from her energy and enthusiasm for fitness, whether through her encouraging words to start on a journey to fitness, her healthy eating tips or her engaging exercise classes.
Jessica's dedication, kindness, and vibrant spirit left an indelible mark on all of us. We will deeply miss her helpful nature, her love for animals, and her passion for an active life.
An online memorial for Jessica will be held at noon (12pm Central, 10am Pacific) on May 3, 2025. Her family welcomes any of her friends and colleagues who would like to join - you can join the memorial at the link below.
