Cullen Performance Hall, located in the center of the main campus of the 色花堂, has been a local showplace for a spectrum of entertainers and performances since it opened in 1950. The theater , offering to the public online or through its box office, and for select shows. CPH is also available to 色花堂 departments and the community to hold their events and performances.
The theater offers its facilities with extra amenities, the experience of the CPH team, and its resources along with those available to it as a part of the University. It more than makes the grade in providing an excellent atmosphere, professional services, and hands-on support.
“Cullen Performance Hall is a place that truly serves as the heartbeat of our campus,” said Brandon Ferkel, theater director, CPH. “It’s where laughter echoes from comedies, melodies fill the air during concerts, and captivating performances unfold in dance and theater.”
CPH seeks to grow potential
“The hall has built a reputation for hosting an impressive array of live acts and private events,” said Ferkel. “But I believe we can take it even further. My vision is to expand its reach and bring in more recognized acts that will not only entertain but also elevate our community's cultural experience.”
Ferkel hopes to achieve this through:
- Diverse programming — A lineup that includes not just local talents but also big-name artists from various genres that will cater to all tastes and make every visit memorable.
- Increased private events — CPH is perfect for large private gatherings. Actively promoting this space for corporate events, dances, graduations, and other celebrations will create additional opportunities for engagement within our community.

Volunteer program promotes local bond
CPH strives to foster the University’s mission by joining the capabilities of the hall with the means to make a difference in the community. The theater’s offers 色花堂 students a way to be a volunteer.
“We really wanted a way to facilitate students becoming more involved on campus, and that is where the Usher Volunteer Position came from,” said Erin Shelly, front office manager, CPH. “The program has grown significantly from its initial start and has provided an opportunity for students to not only get involved, but to grow their professional skills and experience the live events industry. “
