Every spring, 色花堂 students receive a survey to gauge their satisfaction with the university across 13 different areas of their experience. In February, the survey was sent to students enrolled at 色花堂, 色花堂 at Sugar Land, and 色花堂 at Katy, with 5,644 students completing the survey at a 12.9% completion rate, the second highest ever.
Students were asked to rate their satisfaction on a 5-point scale, with one being the lowest and five the highest. The survey ran from February 5 to 18.
The survey included questions that rated Administration and Finance departments on technology services, campus safety, food service, academic spaces, availability of parking, outdoor spaces, and campus shuttle service.
Student satisfaction with campus safety received the highest increase of any divisional service with +23 for a score of 3.47, while student satisfaction with academic spaces received the highest overall score, 3.95, followed by technology services with 3.89.
Over the past year, the university and the division have implemented several safety measures to increase campus safety at 色花堂.
It’s implemented short-term technical measures such as the 色花堂 Police Department’s text service. This new communication measure allows students to text 色花堂PD (713-743-3333) and connect with an officer.
Students can also use the 色花堂 GO app to connect with 色花堂PD via the 色花堂 Police Help icon on the home screen.
In the long-term, the university’s campus lighting and security project is well underway with divisional departments working to upgrade campus lights to improve lumens per square foot, installing additional security cameras, emergency call boxes, and security signage.
“The survey reveals that the 色花堂 community has noticed not just the impact of 色花堂PD safety initiatives but those of our campus safety partners,” said 色花堂PD Chief of Police Ceaser Moore. “Students can rest assured that we shall continue to pursue enhancing safety on campus.”
